Children's Sunday

Today's Children's Sunday service was truly special.  The children worked hard to lead the congregation in worship to praise God and to recognize our mothers.  It has been such a joy working with the children this year.  It's hard to believe the school year is almost over!  I pray that all families will have a great end to the school year and please have a safe, fun summer!

Our first 14-15 choir rehearsal is almost here!

Children's Choir and Preschool Choir rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, August 13th!  We have exciting things to learn this year, including the story of Moses and the Exodus.  We will be learning about the amazing Moses story through preparing a musical called "Are We There Yet?" and then we will perform it for the church on Sunday, October 26th!

Performance time!

Wow, it's hard to believe that we will already be performing next week!  This is going to be a fun performance with the adult choir...and then after the performance we get to unload pumpkins!!

We have a combined choir rehearsal after regular midweek activities this Wednesday night (September 25th) in the sanctuary 7:15-7:30.

Sunday, September 29th we will begin collecting children from Sunday School at 10:25 in order to rehearse with the adult choir at 10:30.  After rehearsing, we will sit in the choir loft and will remain in the choir loft during the entire worship service.  Make sure your child wears their MABC Children's Choir shirt and jeans!

Wow!

We have had an awesome turnout at children's choir and preschool choir rehearsals the last few weeks.  Thank you for bringing your child to rehearsal on Wednesday nights!  We have lots of fun songs and activities planned for the year, and your child definitely doesn't want to miss any of them!  Be on the lookout for upcoming performance details!

Back to rehearsal!

Can you believe it...summer is gone and school is now back in session!  That means Children's Choir rehearsals begin soon!  MABC Children's Choir's first rehearsal will be Wednesday, August 14th, which is when Midweek begins.  There are going to be fun Midweek activities between choir and awesome character development with Claire.  There will even be preschool music activities with Zoe Bolen!

Children's Choir will be meeting in the Children's Church room upstairs in the children's building from 6:05-6:50 PM.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone next week!

Words cannot express how wonderful the journey has been learning and performing The Tale of the Three Trees.  The children's choir did spectacular on Sunday morning...JUST WONDERFUL!  We give God all the glory for blessing us with talents to sing and perform.  Thank you children for your hard work on this musical, and thank you parents and children's choir volunteers for supporting the children and making this performance possible.  Enjoy these cute pictures of Sunday's performance!

Performance day is almost here!

The children are ready to present The Tale of the Three Trees on Sunday, April 7th!  We will meet in the sanctuary at 9:45 AM and will be ready to present the musical during the morning worship service at 11:00 AM.  Attire is Sunday/Easter dress.

You do not want to miss the children's choir performance Sunday morning!  From the children singing to the beautiful piano accompaniment from Carol Selick and powerful narration from Ray Neal, it is a story of Jesus' life that will be portrayed in a powerful way.  See you there!

Practice, practice, practice!

The children's choir is gearing up for their April 7th performance!  We have practiced, practiced, and then practiced our musical even more to have it ready to present to the Milledge Avenue congregation in a few weeks.  Thank you all for your hard work in learning The Tale of the Three Trees!

Off to a good start

We've had a lot of fun the last few weeks learning new songs for our spring performance and playing rhythms on percussion instruments.  The Children's Choir will be presenting The Tale of the Three Trees on Sunday, April 7th during the morning worship service.  It will be a moving performance as we work to glorify and praise God through our singing (and occasional acting!).  Be on the lookout for updates on performance attire and upcoming Wednesday night rehearsals in the sanctuary!

Happy New Year!  The Children's Choir did a fantastic job at their performance in December.  Job well done kids!!

Children's Choir rehearsal starts back up this Wednesday, January 9th at 6 PM.  The children will be learning some really fun songs this spring.  Hope to see everyone for rehearsal Wednesday night!

Ring in Advent!

The Children's Choir would like to invite everyone to come out and hear their performance on Sunday, December 16th at 5:30 PM.  The Children's Choir will be presenting an Advent narration and singing beautiful Christmas songs.  It is an event you definitely don't want to miss!

The Children's Choir will be practicing in the sanctuary this Wednesday, December 12th 6:30-7:00 PM and this Sunday, December 16th at 4:45 PM.  Children should wear something festive for this Sunday's performance!

We're looking forward to another fun-filled rehearsal Wednesday night as we prepare for our Advent narration and songs.  We will be performing our Advent narration and songs on Sunday, December 16th.  See everyone at 6:00 PM Wednesday night!

Job Well Done!

The children did a beautiful job singing "All Creatures" with the adult choir last Sunday.  It is so refreshing to hear young voices singing and praising God! 

We are now going to be working on Christmas music in rehearsals.  The Christmas music we will be singing is absolutely beautiful, so make sure your child doesn't miss rehearsal!  The Children's Choir will perform their Christmas music the Evening of Sunday, December 16th.  There will also be narrations for a few children to read, as well as tone chime parts to be played by a few children.  I can't wait!

There will be no Children's Choir rehearsal Wednesday, October 24th due to the Pumpkin Patch Carnival.  Hope to see you there!

The children are singing!

The Children's Choir will be singing with the adult choir THIS Sunday, September 30th during the Sunday morning worship service.  You don't want to miss it!  We have been rehearsing "All Creatures of Our God and King" in the sanctuary the past two Wednesday nights, and the children are sounding great!  This Wednesday night we will rehearse "All Creatures" in the sanctuary with the adult choir at 6:45 PM.  All other Children's Choir activities will take place in the music room.

Remember that this Sunday I will pick up the children from Sunday School at 10:25 AM, and if you will not be attending Sunday School then please meet us outside of the sanctuary by the stairs at 10:30 AM.  We will rehearse "All Creatures" with the adult choir in the choir room and will then go up to the sanctuary to be seated for the service.  Remember to dress casual to help unload pumpkins after the service!

As the time draws near for our first performance in the sanctuary on Sunday, September 30th, the Children's Choir will be rehearsing All Creatures of Our God and King  in the sanctuary beginning THIS Wednesday, September 12th.  Make sure you don't miss rehearsal so that you can get as much experience singing in the sanctuary as possible!  All other Children's Choir activities will be taking place in the Music Room.

The Children's Choir will be singing All Creatures of Our God and King with the Adult Choir during the morning worship service on Sunday, September 30th.  This is also Youth Sunday and Pumpkin Sunday, so it is a service you definitely don't want to miss!

Great first rehearsal!

The Children's Choir had a great first rehearsal last Wednesday night.  If you weren't able to make it last week, then we hope to see you this week!  We will be working on our pieces that we will be singing at the September 30th Sunday morning worship: All Creatures of Our God and King.

The Wednesday night dinners are delicious, so please join us all for dinner and the children will line up for rehearsal at the entrance of the Fellowship Hall after dinner.  Parents, please don't forget to pick up your child outside of the Music Room at 7 PM!

Get excited!

It's almost here!  The first MABC Children's Choir rehearsal is Wednesday, August 15th at 6 PM.  You don't want to miss it!  I look forward to meeting everyone in the Fellowship Hall during Wednesday night dinner.  Parents, please meet Mrs. Marlow outside of the Music Room at 7 PM to pick up your child.  Can't wait to see everyone!
